For several years, Grace UMC has met at 8:30 a.m. each Sunday. However, with the appointment of a new pastor who is now serving three different churches, we are needing to move our Sunday worship time to noon. This will start on Sunday, August 4, 2024.
Change is hard and we know that some of our existing congregation will be unhappy with the change, and yet, we are convinced that every church served by our pastor should be able to have his or her physical presence every Sunday. After much consultation with church leaders from all three churches and our appointed pastor, we believe that moving Grace’s worship is the best option. Given the current makeup of the Plainfield community, we are convinced that our new worship time offers the opportunity to reach out to our neighbors in new ways and will open our church to new people.
It’s our hope to eventually include a lunch gathering each week, followed by a service of prayer and reflection. While we are getting things organized, we encourage all to bring their own lunch!
